CB Style Corner: Summer Bedding Essentials

I spent some time this weekend “Spring/Summer cleaning” my closet and bedroom just trying to get everything organized.
Generally, I take the time to do this every year purging items and preparing my bedroom for the summer months and here are a few tips that I have learned over the years:

1.) Opt for thinner bedding such as quilts or duvet sets. It rids you of the bulk of the standard comforter set and can be essential especially if you live in a warmer climate and/or if you do not have an air conditioner.
2.) Next time you change your linens, get rid of the flat/top sheet. Trust me when I say you will thank me for this tip when you are in a rush in the morning and you need to quickly make your bed. Plus, once again you are ridding yourself of the bulk of winter bedding.
3.) Also, before you put on the fitted sheet, sprinkle a little scented powder on the bed. I learned this tip from my Mom many years ago. You will feel so refreshed when you lay down after a long summer’s day.

4.) Scented candles in the bedroom are the best during any season but there is something about the scent of lavender in your bedroom during the summer months that is so peaceful and serene.

5.) Finally, I never go without my “favorite blanket”; however, during the summertime it’s generally folded at the edge of the bed instead of underneath my comforter. It’s easier to access especially if you are watching tv or reading a book and need to put something over your feet.
