Okay, so hopefully you are not thinking “What does Healthy Lifestyle Tips have to do with fashion?”. Essentially, it has everything to do with fashion because what you put in your body is just as important as what you put on your body. It sounds cliché but so true.
I am not perfect when it pertains to healthy eating habits; however, I am disciplined and I know when I can munch on a bag of my favorite chips and when I need to take a break from the sweets/salty snacks and all the other yummy goodness.
Here are some tips I have found over the years that can help you maintain your physique.
Eating a bowl of oatmeal with apples, bananas and raisins is not only filling but it prevents you from the “snack attack”. So you don’t like oatmeal? Try eating 2 apples and a cup of Greek Yogurt. (Yoplait’s Greek yogurt is actually very good)
Water with lemon juice, green tea or just a bottled water. I read online that drinking those type of beverages will help your metabolism.
Okay, this is my downfall because I am a “snack-a-holic”. I eat healthy but when I am stressed you will see all kinds of madness in my office during work hours.
I have learned that snacking on a trail mix of almonds, raisins, cranberries and pistachios is just as “comforting” as snacking on salty chips. I have a big bag in my desk for those stressful days.
Try to incorporate an exercise routine in your weekly schedule
I know sometimes it can be challenging, trust me but I follow this quote when I feel overwhelmed by life’s daily activities: If it’s important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.
Don’t eat after a certain time
I try not to eat after 6 pm and if I do it’s very light. Here’s a rule I use: Eat your heaviest meals earlier in the day and then slowly decrease your intake. I generally get full from breakfast and lunch so by the time I exercise I don’t feel sluggish and also won’t be tempted to eat afterwards.
