With my boyfriend’s old sweater and my iPhone camera, I decided to pay homage to one of my favorite singers and style inspiration, Jody Watley by recreating her “Still A Thrill” album cover for Halloween.
My definition of “Tomboy chic” is a unisex look with “girly-girl” undertones. For example, wearing a crop top with boyfriend jeans complimented with a pair of Adidas or a button down shirt, skinny jeans and your favorite pair of heels.
Tomboy chic was extremely popular in the 1990’s and I remember one of my favorite outfits was my ultra baggy Cross Colours jeans with the shirt to match and a pair of Wild Pair boots.
The look hasn’t changed much over the past 20 years; however, I have noticed it is a little bit more dressed up and feminine, wouldn’t you agree?
I predict for this holiday season that “all things sequin” will be the rage. I mean seriously, how can you go wrong wearing a sequin dress, skirt or top to a holiday event. The material screams “wear me to a festive event”. What I love even more is you can dress it up or down depending on how you style it.
