I had some time yesterday so I put together a few “festive looks”. Let’s talk about these looks shall we?
First look: This tulle skirt/t-shirt situation looked a lot better in my mind. As I was snapping pictures, I realized this is not how I am going to wear this skirt. I love the skirt and I like the t-shirt (this t-shirt is better as a nightshirt) but never will the two be paired together again. I plan to wear the skirt as a shirt. This party look I will be posting momentarily…(main reason why this post is titled Volume 1)
Skirt: Akira Shirt: Target
Second Look: Is a Walmart special. Ummm, does this make me the people of Walmart? Anyway, I tend to purchase a lot of my t-shirts from places like Walmart and Target because you can get them at such an affordable rate. Not to mention, the mens’ department has the best selection of rocker t-shirts.
The boots are Steve Madden and I purchased them when they were 30% off. Never be afraid of bright neon yellow boots. Oh, I have a few ideas of how I intend to wear them. Stay tuned.
I still sing the “Rebecca Black” song in my head on Fridays and even extend the word “Fryyyyyyyyy-day, Frrryyyyyyy-day” in my mind. Ha!!!
Anyway, “Happy Friday“.
Hat – Target
Dress – Altar’d State
Blazer – Thrifted
The “E True Personal Blog Story!” behind #OOTD posts are they sometimes have to happen quick. Sometimes, you are about to leave with kids in the car and you’re all like “Hurry up and take this picture so I can post it”. #noliestold
The reason I wanted to post this jumpsuit is that I have been waiting for a few months for this Free People Color My World jumpsuit to go on sale. I saw it originally in the Free People store but when I checked online and it was nearly 50% off at Macy’s, well, I just had to have it. I consider these types of situations as blessings. #thankful
I went to my cousin’s wedding this past weekend which was beautiful. I almost felt a watery substance trying to form in my eyes when they were saying their vowels. Love is so special to me. ❤
Anyway, my off the shoulder dress that I wore was not really hard to find as I shop at Vici Collection all the time. This store has becomes my favorite store. Their selection of bohemian chic-date-night-brunch-with-my-girlfriends apparel is par excellent. It seems every week now I seem to find something else I add to my wishlist.
When life happens to people, why is your blog the first place that is affected? Why?
Anyway, instead of giving you a long and very boring explanation, just know I have been placing my focus on my instagram page @thebohemiancosmo. Why the name change you ask? I mean, shouldn’t all your social media sites be uniform? Yes, they should but I wanted to focus strictly on fashion and nothing else.
My instagram page @challebrown is a hodge-podge of pictures, style inspiration and even home and decor. It’s just me being random. My new page is a little bit more focused. It’s sorda like an artist evolving and testing the waters. #betastages
Anyway, my plan is to launch a YouTube page in conjunction with @thebohemiancosmo as sometimes people want to see the “true you” in pictures and on camera.
For your convenience, I have linked my new instagram page to this blog. Just click on one of the pictures (on the right hand side under (“Follow us on Instagram”).
One of the reasons why I ADORE bohemian chic collections like Roberto Cavalli’s Resort 2017 is because I can easily find similar pieces at my favorite vintage shops.
Recently, I had been searching for some inspiration on what to wear to my son’s high school graduation next week. When I viewed this collection I immediately thought “That’s it!!!!”. I am taking a trip to my favorite vintage shop and try to find a similar long, flowing maxi dress.
Here’s hoping the trip is a success.
Stevie Nicks is a style star in my book because she is the “Queen of Bohemian Style” and her hair is #awesome.
