Style Inspiration: Tomboy Chic

My definition of “Tomboy chic” is a unisex look with “girly-girl” undertones. For example, wearing a crop top with boyfriend jeans complimented with a pair of Adidas or a button down shirt, skinny jeans and your favorite pair of heels.

Tomboy chic was extremely popular in the 1990’s and I remember one of my favorite outfits was my ultra baggy Cross Colours jeans with the shirt to match and a pair of Wild Pair boots.

The look hasn’t changed much over the past 20 years; however, I have noticed it is a little bit more dressed up and feminine, wouldn’t you agree?

A Day In The Life Of………………Family

I spent yesterday with my Mom and my older brother (in celebration of Mother’s Day). We all decided to wait a week because all the restaurants were booked the previous weekend.
My Mom and brother are my 2 best friends and biggest supporters.  I don’t know what I would do without them
It’s so important to show your loved ones just how special and important they are to you in life. ❤

Style Icon: Nina Simone

When I see R&B Jazz artist Nina Simone’s style, artists such as Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu come to my mind; however, I don’t think of Zoe Saldana, the actress who portrayed the late songwriter in the recent biopic currently playing in theatres (but that is another story).
I absolutely love Nina’s Afrocentric style that was somewhat fashion-forward, especially the white netted outfit in the first picture.
